I gave notice last night!
When I first asked to go back to Marsh they had just hired a new assistant manager. He refuses to rehire previous employees. His thought process is that they quit once, we don't want them back. Well, a few of the girls in the office pushed to get me in before he took over the hiring process.
My letter last night thanked both the manager and the assistant manager for allowing me the opportunity to come back to work - especially to offset the costs involved in my trip. I explained that I was just too tired to work two jobs any longer. I offered to be an "on-call" person that they could call should they be short staffed any evening or weekend.
The assistant manager told me thanks for working and that I did a good job for them. But that next weeks schedule (which he has just posted as we were talking) would be my last week.
Sigh.
I just feel, well...I don't know what I feel. You know I struggled with putting in my notice - and I know I could have used the extra one weeks pay. I feel kinda hurt that he wouldn't keep me the second week. I don't know.
But I do know it'll be ok.
Michael pointed out that God has provided for this trip...that much is evident. In a hair over 3 months I raised $3300 to go on this trip due to an amazing number of people who have given from their hearts. My shots are almost entirely paid for. My remaining costs should be minimal.
So I'm going the rest of the way on faith.
